The Canadian Firearms Safety Course (PAL) is a requirement for anyone who wants to apply for a Possession and Acquisition License to obtain and own Non-Restricted Firearms and purchase ammunition. This 8 hour course introduces the basics of firearms safety and function, storage and other legal requirements. After instruction time, a written exam and practical exam is administered. The course is one full day of instruction, a written exam and a 20 minute practical exam in the evening or next day depending on course format.
The Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (RPAL) is a requirement for anyone who wants to apply for a Possession and Acquisition License to obtain and own Restricted Firearms. This 6 hour course introduces the basics of firearms safety and function, storage and other legal requirements specific to restricted firearms. After instruction time, a written exam and practical exam is administered. This course is one day including all exams.
NOTE: RPAL courses are still being run. The government’s gun bans and prohibition on handgun imports and transfers have not stopped the course being delivered. Note that no refunds will be given due to gun bans or government actions.
IPSC Black Badge
The IPSC Black Badge Course is the required training course needed in Canada to participate in International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC). The 16 hour (2 day) course will run students through practical handgun use using holsters in the classroom and on the range, shooting approximately 400 rounds under the direction of IPSC master and grand master instructors. The course develops shooter skills based on competition shooting, movement, grip, recoil management, trigger control and more. The course fee include cost for training days and IPSC BC membership. Student will need to supply specific equipment.

Handgun and Firearms Training
Fort George Firearms Training can offer you one on one or small group basic training on handguns and rifles with an experienced shooter. Learn how to use your handgun properly or get familiar with a new rifle. This is subject to instructor and range availability. Must be a member of the Prince George Rod and Gun Club or have a day pass. We can help hone your shooting skills. Services are also offered in other locations if required.
$75/hr +2 hr minimum
Fort George Firearms Training can assist with estates. If you have inherited firearms and do not have a license you do not have to take them to the police or destroy them. You can take the time as executor to get a license or you can transfer them to someone with a license (give or sell). We can assist you in this process or help you value and sell a collection.
Fort George Firearms Training can travel, when available, to various areas in Northern British Columbia on Hwy 16 and 97. If your area is in need of a CFSC/CRFSC instructor and you have several people interested get in touch. Fees may be higher due to travel an accommodation needs.
